Doing what it takes to get the job done is a life that St. Louis native Malik Oliphant has lived firsthand since childhood. One of 10 children, the 27-year-old business owner will be following in his mother’s footsteps when he launches Brightway, The Oliphant Agency insurance office on Monday.
Since Malik’s high school days, Jeanette Ware has owned and operated Happy’s Convenience Store in Ferguson. Beginning next week, Oliphant will be expanding his family’s business footprint in St. Louis County when he opens his new agency on the top floor of the Gateway City’s Bank of America building.
“Watching my mother work hard and set the tone has made me push harder each day,” Oliphant said. The Magna Cum Laude graduate from Webster University also owns O&C Property (Landscaping) and Oliphant Family Solutions, LLC (Accounting), with nearly a decade of business and finance management experience guiding the Lafayette Square resident along.
Looking for ways to help serve the region’s underserved population when it comes to insurance coverage, Oliphant is hoping he can give back to the community that has done so much for his family.
“With two daughters of my own, I understand what it takes to make sure you protect the most important parts of your life,” Oliphant added. “From helping coach their ball teams to knowing what their dreams for the future are, keeping them safe helps me keep my focus where it needs to be.”
