WICHITA, KAN. — Consumers in Kansas will soon experience a better way to shop for insurance for their homes, cars and much more. On Friday, June 29, Kayla Schabel will be the first person to open a Brightway Insurance Agency in the Sunflower State when she opens the doors to Brightway, The Schabel Agency.

Born and raised in Independence, Kan., Schabel earned a law degree from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, and a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma in Norman. She comes to Brightway with five years of legal and management experience. Most recently, she served as a Project Manager for the City of Independence Housing Authority. Schabel has a dog, Boomer, and for leisure, she enjoys playing tennis, spending time with friends and family, reading and writing. Joining Schabel at Brightway is Wichita native, Melissa Winters, who brings three years’ insurance experience to the agency. Winters comes to Brightway from Allstate. She studied Business Management at Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kans. She looks forward to being able to offer more choice to consumers as a Brightway Agent.
