RALEIGH, N.C. — Standing in front of a boarded up window, Maz Ganim, Owner of Brightway, The Ganim Agency presented a check to Vicky Ismail, Founder and Executive Director of Carroll’s Kitchen in downtown Raleigh, in the amount of $2,000, yesterday.
“In April, we decided to help another local business affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and decided that Carroll’s Kitchen was a great organization to assist, so we committed to donating $5 for every insurance quote we provided in April and May to the non-profit restaurant. They’re doing great work here in Raleigh, and the food is fantastic,” said Ganim.
“We raised $1,800, and when we learned the restaurant sustained damage from the recent riots, we decided to increase the donation amount to $2,000 to help them offset costs of renovations,” Ganim added.
“We’re extremely grateful for the generosity of Maz and his team at Brightway, and it couldn’t have come at a more needed time,” said Ismail. “While the riot damage was a disappointing setback, we’re grateful for the community support and the team here including our volunteers. We boarded up the windows, cleaned up the mess and had the restaurant operating within a few days. It wasn’t easy, but we had a lot of help to keep our mission of providing healthy employment for women overcoming crisis going.”
Carroll’s Kitchen is open Monday - Friday, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (EDT). The kitchen is open, or you can order online for no-contact pick-up and delivery. Click here for additional information about the restaurant or to place an order online.
