WASHINGTON, D.C. - Brightway Insurance recently sent four members of the company’s training team to the Association for Talent Development International Conference held May 19-22.
Brightway’s Training Team, consisting of Agency Onboarding and Support Manager Nick Spendley; Senior Training Specialist Rose Luna; and Training Specialists Wenchell Aurelien and Lisa Crosby, each attended the conference and participated in several certification programs. Spendley obtained certification for Strategic Leadership, while Luna obtained certification for the Master Trainer Designation, a special recognition through the Association for Talent Development that teaches adult learning principles, strategies for different learning needs and more. Crosby and Aurelien earned certification in Writing for Instructional Design and Training as well as Professional Coaching, respectively.
“The importance of thorough talent development is something that can’t be overstated, and Brightway has truly taken a revolutionary approach by investing in the resources we need to make sure that we’re properly teaching and molding our employees for the future,” said Luna. “These certifications will prove to be invaluable once we’ve implemented all that we’ve learned in our training materials and classrooms, and they’ll continue to help us grow as employees and as a company.”
In addition to earning certifications for those subjects, the group participated in several of the conference break-out sessions and other activities as they learned industry trends, best practices and solutions for designing, delivering and implementing new learning programs.
Several notable guest speakers, such as media mogul Oprah Winfrey, author Seth Godin and composer Eric Whitacre, provided their perspectives and insight. The conference also featured more than 400 exhibitors and hosted more than 10,000 training professionals.
